Riddle of the day

Today's Riddle

 

A butler is promised $100 and a cloak as his wages for a year. After 7

months he leaves this service, and receives the cloak and $20 as his

due. How much is the cloak worth?  

 

Yesterday's Riddle

Toni loves dumplings. She can eat 32 of them in an hour. Her brother

Paul needs three hours to eat the same amount.

 

How long will it take them both together to eat 32 dumplings?  

 

Yesterday's Answer

 

If Toni eats three times as fast as Paul, she must be able to eat

three times as many dumplings as her brother.

 

Therefore, she must be able to eat 24 while he eats 8, 24+8 equals 32.

 

But here we're asked to measure time. We want to know how long it took

Paul and Toni to eat the dumplings. The 24 and 8 respectively took 45

minutes.
